In many cases, Co-Op (internships) can take the place of electives in your major. Students may also be able to use their current jobs to gain credit hours. The coperative education office has internships for every major on campus, and you might find yourself working in the following areas

• Accounting Majors: Rowan and Cabarrus Co. School Administration offices
• Biotech: NC Research Center – numerous positions available
• Business Administration/Marketing – hotels, Charlotte Motor Speedway, restaurants and more
• Construction Management – Several paid opportunities in Lexington, NC
• Medical Office Administration – Numerous medical practices in Cabarrus and Rowan counties
• Office Administration – A large number of businesses in the two-county area
• Automotive – Dealerships in Cabarrus and Rowan counties
• Information Systems – RCCC, CMC NorthEast Medical and other independent companies
• Criminal Justice – Youth agencies in both counties, police and sheriff’s departments
• Electrical and Electronics – numerous companies in both counties
