Rowan-Cabarrus Locations – South Campus

NCDOT Construction Near South Campus

The N.C. Department of Transportation continues to expand I-85 in Cabarrus County. Unfortunately, this construction is about to impact our South Campus and we want you to be prepared to handle this. The construction DOT is performing will mean increased congestion and longer travel times.

Beginning on August 15, the circle entrance/exit directly in front of Building 1000 on South Campus will changed to exit only. You will need to use the entrance in front of Building 2000.

Please pay attention to the flow of traffic and try to be extra careful in the parking lots. Additionally, as DOT continues its construction, changes to our entrances and exits may occur. On any given day, access might change. We will try to keep you informed of changes, but very often we will not be informed in advance.

Below is a series of alternative routes you may use for accessing South Campus. Please be sure to allow yourself much more time for getting to and from South Campus.

  • Take I-85 South toward Kannapolis, NC.
  • Take exit 63 for Lane Street
  • Turn right onto Lane Street. Continue on Lane Street for two and a half miles.
  • Turn left onto N. Main Street. Continue on N. Main street for a half mile.
  • Turn right onto W. 1st Street. Continue on W. 1st Street for a quarter mile.
  • Turn left onto Pine Street/Mooresville Road. Continue on Pine Street/Mooresville Road for three miles.
  • Turn left onto Kannapolis Parkway. Continue on Kannapolis Parkway for three miles.
  • Turn left onto Trinity Church Road. Continue on Trinity Church Road for one mile.
  • Rowan-Cabarrus Community College's South Campus will be on the right.
