Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Exam Prep

Get Cisco certified with classes at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s Cisco Networking Academy. Offered under the umbrella of Continuing Education, this fast-paced course is conducted online, and all course materials, assessments, and labs are available through our online learning management system. Students have access to expert instruction with the support of video and rich interactive media, participants learn, apply and practice CCNA knowledge and skills through a series of in-depth labs and simulated activities that reinforce learning. Upon completion of this training, learners will be prepared to take the Cisco CCNA certification exam.

START DATE: March 28, 2022

END DATE: July 15, 2022

HOLIDAYS: Monday, May 30 and Monday, July 4, 2022

CLASS IS HYBRID: 

  • Meets face-to-face Mondays from 6-8:30 p.m. at CBTC, room 9104
  • The remainder of the class will be accessible online 24/7, with Zoom meetings Wednesdays & Fridays 6-8:30 p.m.

Registration Fee: $505.00 (Includes tuition plus exam voucher)

The curriculum consists of three components, all in a single course:

CCNA: Introduction to Networks

You’ll Learn These Core Skills:

  • Build simple LANs, perform basic configurations for routers and switches, and implement IPv4 and IPv6 addressing schemes.
  • Configure routers, switches, and end devices to provide access to local and remote network resources and to enable end-to-end connectivity between remote devices.
  • Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using Cisco Packet Tracer.
  • Configure and troubleshoot connectivity a small network using security best practices

CCNA: Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials

You’ll Learn These Core Skills:

  • Work with routers, switches and wireless devices to configure and troubleshoot VLANs, Wireless LANs and Inter-VLAN routing.
  • Configure and troubleshoot redundancy on a switched network using STP and EtherChannel.
  • Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using Cisco Packet Tracer.
  • Explain how to support available and reliable networks using dynamic addressing and first-hop redundancy protocols.

CCNA: Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation

You’ll Learn These Core Skills:

  • Work with routers and switches using OSPF in point-to-point and multiaccess networks.
  • Mitigate threats and enhance network security using access control lists and security best practices.
  • Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using Cisco Packet Tracer.
  • Understand virtualization, SDN, and how APIs and configuration management tools enable network automation.

    1. Navigate to WebAdvisor.
    2. Select “Continuing Education” (If you have been a student at RCCC previously, click at the top of the page where indicated to update your current information).
    3. Select “Search, Register and Pay for Continuing Education Classes.”
    4. To search for your class, type “CCNA” as a Key Word.
    5. Check the box to select the class and select “Submit.”
    6. Enter your information and follow instructions to register and pay.
