PC Repair/A+ Certification

This course prepares students for entry-level PC repair technician jobs, as well as the CompTIA A+ certification exams.  This course will be taught using on-line media with a heavy emphasis on hands-on experience.

Students who successfully complete this program will be prepared for a variety of information technology (IT) jobs. These include help-desk support positions, entry-level network support positions, PC and network repair positions, and wireless network support positions.

Network + Certification

This course is designed for IT professionals who possess nine months of on-the-job experience in network administration or support and desire to sit for the CompTIA Certification test.  Network+ is a popular credential for system and network administrators and is intended to demonstrate the candidate’s knowledge of foundational networking concepts.  Network+ is a natural stepping stone toward more advanced credentials, such as the Microsoft MCSE and EC-Council CEH.  This course has a $180 registration fee. Required textbook costs approximately $80.

Cisco Discovery Networking I & II

This course will prepare students for entry-level network and help desk support positions and two different Cisco certification exams, the CCENT and the CCNA.

The CCENT is an optional first step toward earning the Cisco CCNA network associate certification, which is the foundational certification for networking careers.

Students will receive hands-on introduction to networking and internet technologies, using tools and hardware commonly found in home and small business environments. Course topics include basic training in routing and switching, cabling, remote access, IP addressing, wireless configuration, network security, troubleshooting, and network services such as file sharing, email services, and related ISP services.

The following three Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification courses are appropriate for those with at least one year of networking experience who are ready to advance their skills and work independently on complex network solutions. Those who achieve CCNP have demonstrated the skills required in enterprise roles such as network technician, support engineer, systems engineer or network engineer.  All three are 8-week certification-focused course consisting of lectures by a Cisco-Certified Instructor with lab time on our equipment and online assignments.


Cisco CCNP Routing Certification (ROUTE 642-902)

Cisco CCNP ROUTE is a 8-week certification-focused course consisting of lectures by a CCNP Cisco-Certified Instructor with lab time on our equipment and online assignments.  Students will gain knowledge and skills necessary to use advanced IP addressing and routing in implementing scalable and secure Cisco ISR routers connected to LANs and WANs.  The ROUTE 642-902 exam (available through the RCCC Testing Center) also covers configuration of secure routing solutions to support branch offices and mobile workers.

Cisco CCNP Switching Certification (SWITCH 642-813)

The CCNP SWITCH curriculum is designed for students seeking career oriented, enterprise-level networking skills. The Cisco CCNP Switch course covers how to plan, configure and verify the implementation of complex enterprise switching solutions. This course covers secure integration of VLANs, WLANs, voice and video into campus networks. The Cisco CCNP Switch course covers the material to prepare students for the Cisco SWITCH 642-813 exam (available through the RCCC Testing Center), which is part of the Cisco CCNP and CCDP certifications.

Cisco CCNP Troubleshooting Certification (TSHOOT 642-832)

Cisco CCNP TSHOOT is a 7-week certification-focused course consisting of lectures by a Cisco-Certified Instructor with lab time on our equipment and online assignments.  Students will gain knowledge and skills necessary to plan and perform regular maintenance on complex enterprise routed and switched networks, and to use technology-based practices and a systematic ITIL-compliant approach to perform network troubleshooting.  The TSHOOT 642-832 exam is available through the RCCC Testing Center.
