Native Tree Identification

October 7, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

CLASS CANCELLED

Explore the giants of the plant world!  In this fun field class participants will observe bark, leaves, twigs, fruit and form of trees, learn the utility of dichotomous keys for identification, and discuss the benefits and horticultural uses of native trees and other plants.  Additional topics will include responsible land stewardship, farm-to-forest relationships, and the zone, sector and edge concepts of permaculture.  We will walk for two hours at a leisurely pace with frequent stops, so please wear comfortable shoes, dress accordingly, and bring water with you.  The class will be held rain or shine.
