Short-Term Workforce Development Grant.
Short-term Workforce Development (STWD) Grant
The Short-term Workforce Development (STWD) grant is the first state-funded financial aid program for eligible Workforce Continuing Education (WCE) students pursuing high-demand, family-sustaining wage credentials through North Carolina Community College. The STWD grant funding includes up to $750.00 for tuition costs for eligible courses.
Eligibility
- You must have a Residency Certification Number (RCN) to verify NC residency. The RCN number will be requested on the grant application. Visit the NC Residency Determination Service (RDS) website at ncresidency.org to complete the application to retrieve your Residency Certification Number that is unique to you.
- Applicants must be enrolled or are planning to enroll, in an eligible program or course leading to a credential.

Complete a Scholarship Application Request Form for RCCC Continuing Education Classes (https://www.rccc.edu/corporatecontinuing/continuing-education-scholarship-request/) . You will then receive an email from the R3 Team (r3@rccc.edu) with instructions to receive the full application.
