Creative Currents is a new, dynamic arts and cultural event series hosted by the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Department of Art & Design with the support of the Rowan Arts Council.
This series is dedicated to bringing free, universally accessible events to the campus and local community, providing unique opportunities for cultural enrichment, skill development and professional networking. Running from December 2025 through April 2026, Creative Currents features diverse events – including artist talks, hands-on workshops and demonstrations – that celebrate the rich creative talent within the region.
The mission of Creative Currents is to illuminate the paths to professional success in the creative fields by showcasing working artists and designers from North Carolina. Attendees will have the chance to:
- Gain Inspiration: Hear directly from accomplished professionals who are defining the contemporary art landscape.
- Develop Skills: Participate in focused, hands-on workshops that enhance technical and conceptual abilities.
- Connect with the Community: Foster a vibrant local arts community among students, faculty, and area residents.
All events in the Creative Currents series are proudly supported by a grassroots grant from the Rowan Arts Council, which receives funding from the North Carolina Arts Council.
