About Summer Institute

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is dedicated to its faculty’s continual growth and advancement. The college actively encourages and supports faculty members in pursuing ongoing development, aiming to enhance their educational background, previous training, and instructional expertise. One exemplary initiative that showcases this commitment to faculty development is the annual Summer Institute, which the Center for Teaching & Learning organizes.

Summer Institute offers faculty members various professional development opportunities through workshops and collaborative activities. Renowned speakers from both within and outside the college are invited to present on various topics, including student engagement, retention strategies, classroom management, technology tools and applications, instructional trends, College initiatives, and innovative teaching methods. The duration of the Summer Institute is determined based on the college’s schedule and available budget.

Summer Institute Committee

The Summer Institute Committee plays a crucial role in organizing this event. The committee provides guidance and input on all aspects of the Summer Institute, including selecting a theme, developing the program, and handling communication and marketing. Committee members act as ambassadors for the Summer Institute, actively promoting it within their respective areas of influence. The committee comprises individuals who are also part of the CTL Advisory Committee.
