Agripreneur Academy & Network

Interest continues to grow nationwide in agriculture and locally-sourced food products. With our area’s strong history and presence in agriculture, we’re pleased to launch the Agripreneur Academy & Network!

  • Designed to be a single educational resource for new and established agriculture-related businesses.
  • Envisioned as a collaboration between education, business, economic development and other agriculture entities.
  • Intended to provide a networking framework to link agribusiness owners of all kinds, local restauranteurs, and the community. Enjoy meeting other locavores* who have a passion for local foods…and playing in the dirt!

The Agripreneur Academy will address several phases of sustainable agriculture from planting seeds to reaping a profit. Educational courses and Agribusiness seminars will be offered throughout the year at various locations throughout Cabarrus and Rowan Counties featuring coursework in in three major categories:

  1. Growing (seed to harvest)
  2. Processing (harvest to market-ready products)
  3. Selling (market-ready products to profit)

The Agripreneur Network will meet quarterly at various locations throughout the two county area to bring together local farmers, community gardeners, agribusiness owners, agricultural processors, restauranteurs, and the community at large for the purpose of sharing of information, collaboration of ideas, identification of needs and teamwork.
