Aromatherapy: Essence of Essential Oilsaromatherapy

Learn about the amazing benefits of essential oils.   Experience the healing art of aromatherapy by making your own spa product.  Treat yourself, indulge your senses, and experience the pure and potent power of these amazing oils. Touch, taste and smell your way to wellbeing. Sampling essential oils which can help with relaxation and sleep, energy and focus, will be part of the workshop.  Learn various ideas and recipes for gifts.

yoga 6Beginning Yoga

This course introduces the fundamentals of Yoga with a focus on proper breathing techniques, relaxation and correct body positions.  Yoga is an exercise that strengthens the body and mind through exercises in relaxation and balance.  Space is limited to facilitate individualized instruction.  Bring a Yoga Mat and wear loose, comfortable clothing.

Introduction to Organic Vegetable Productiongreenhouse

This introductory class in organic vegetable production for spring and summer crops will combine lecture and hands-on experience at the Elma C. Lomax Farm in Cabarrus County. Topics will include soil management, crop planning, irrigation, pest management and more.  Upon completion of the class, students will have the information they need to begin growing organic vegetables.

How To Use Your Digital Camera

This class will cover the basics of digital photography, and teach you how to understand and use the features of your own camera. You’ll also learn many tips and tricks that photographers utilize every day, and gain a better understanding of what turns a simple snapshot into a photograph.

Core Stability

This course makes use of gliding sliding disc exercises to transform traditional exercises, allowing for engaged full body effort from start to finish and also includes exercising with stability balls. Train every muscle in your body to extend your range of motion. You will improve your balance, muscular endurance, and flexibility while working out to popular music.  Bring a stability ball, mat, towel, and water – and wear athletic shoes and comfortable clothing.
