Cybersecurity Training Opportunity: Understanding Targeted Cyber Attacks (AWR376)

July 9 at 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Course Description:

AWR376 is an eight-hour course that provides participants with specific information on targeted cyberattacks, including advanced persistent threats. This information will place them in a better position to plan and prepare for, respond to and recover from targeted cyber-attacks. This course will fill the gap in threat-specific cybersecurity training by offering a community-driven course that focuses on the phases of targeted cyber-attacks and the attacker methods used in each phase. Participants will also receive valuable information on cyber-attack prevention, mitigation and response.

Registration Link: AWR376 – Kannapolis, NC – 7/9/2026

Rowan-Cabarrus has been selected to host in-person, instructor-led cybersecurity training from Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX).
These instructor-led courses are developed by the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC). This training opportunity is FEMA-funded and is free of cost. They are designed to empower communities, businesses and government agencies to prepare for, respond to and recover from cyber incidents.

Individual trainees are expected to bring their own laptops/tablets for training, as the curriculum is done electronically. Once registered, attendees will receive a training portal login and download the materials for their class. The training course will then follow the downloaded materials on each individual’s personal device.

Registration is now live and open to the first 40 participants.
