His work within the Central Piedmont region of North Carolina has spanned to now three projects, &#8220;Two Cardinals in the Thicket&#8221; (2020-2023), &#8220;Ned Peek &amp; The Pug Mill&#8221; (2022-2024), and &#8220;To Watch the Moon Move&#8221; (2024). The work and approach to photography and mixed media installation have changed drastically over these past projects, from working through strict themes and research to a more open-ended and abstract approach to making. All of the projects work from a place of visual connection to landscape, culture, and the investigation of conceptual identity in the American South\u2013 all working to maintain a dialog in visual literacy.<\/p>\n<p>Parker\u2019s work has been exhibited in various galleries, museums, and institutions internationally and in the United States including High Point University, Marshall University, the Colorado Photographic Art Center, The Academy Art Museum, and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. Dwyer&#8217;s artwork involves bringing to light the multicultural generation that he is a part of and is inspired by textures and patterns as well as creating new forms by deconstructing others. While in Chongqing, China he worked as a freelance graphic designer and as an ESL instructor and training specialist at an English school. More recently he was a gallery director for Park West Gallery, for which he ran the art enrichment program that encompassed promotional events, negotiating sales between collectors and artists, as well as hosting art auctions. She is originally from Orange County California where she earned her Master\u2019s degree in Art from California State University Fullerton. Sandra began exhibiting her artwork before she graduated and began her teaching career soon after. Her work involves the search for the visual chords that she creates with color, shape texture and simple images. Much like the emotional impact that music can have, Sandra orchestrates the visual elements together to strike a similar chord. Sandra has an extensive exhibition resume ranging up and down the coast of California across to the East coast of North Carolina. A highlight of her career includes an exhibit with the famous Composer John Cage. Her work can be seen in the collections of screenwriters, actors, educators, musicians, designers, attorneys, Doctors, art collectors, gallery owners, and other artists. Some of her accomplishments include being a Co-Founder and Director of an Art Gallery in the heart of the arts district in Downtown Los Angeles. Her exhibition highlights include Solo shows at Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Fullerton, and the Irvine Fine Arts Center where she was named as the Best New Artist in Orange County. Sandra was spotlighted on a televised \u201cWomen Artists \u201cprogram for the city of Los Angeles. She has had 5 Two-person, 8 Three-person exhibits. Her work has been in over 20 group shows, including those at the Laguna Beach Museum of Art, the Downey Art Museum, and the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art. She has been a guest Lecturer at various art institutions, and a Juror for art competitions including Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. She has found delight in the ability to transform these materials through texture, carving, assembling, painting, and manipulating the form. After graduation she began her career in pagination, ad design, and web design for print publications. Her journey then expanded to include work in ad agencies and private businesses, where she picked up photography and videography. Those years as a creative director provided some of the best experiences, amazing locations, and truly one-of-a-kind clients. In 2014 Ashley moved to North Carolina where she now lives on a farm with her husband and son. She founded a soap store with her best friend, and after 7 years, successfully sold the business. She views being a graphic designer was one of the greatest skill sets she brought to her business, and she truly believe great designers can do (and certainly sell!) anything. She received the 2022 Ed Rooker Encore Award from the American School Band Directors Association. Dr. Peterson has published and presented locally and nationally, including the American Educational Research Association Annual Meeting, the North Carolina Music Educators Association Conference, and the DC Music Educators Association Conference.
