This a tactical shooting course with the handgun only. This course is designed to assist the patrolman, detective and S.W.A.T operator with tactical CQB shooting. Multiple drills will be conducted to prepare the officer mentally and physically for a gun fight at close quarters. This course will also enhance the officer skill level, confidence, weaponry skills and most of all accuracy while stationary and moving. This is an intense course to test the officer skills under stress. This is not a precision handgun course for distance shooting. This is a course designed to deal with close encounters of what we call in the Hole. In the Hole are single or double arms intervals where most gun fights occur in tight quarters. It will also deal with encounters within CQB distances. Equipment needed:
- Duty handgun and holster
- PT gear for first day
- If available duty rifle, submachine gun
- Gas mask mandatory with filter
- Tactical entry and protective kit including helmet (TACTICAL GEAR)
- If available elbow and knee pads
- 1 of each – smoke, gas CN or CS and flash bang
- Ammo – handgun – 450 rounds
- Ammo – rifle –300 rounds
- Ammo – submachine gun -300 rounds
- flashlight / secondary light
- Ballistic shield
- Eye , hearing protection is mandatory
- Ballistic vest or tactical vest is mandatory
- Recommend gloves, boots, baseball style hat, BDU style pants
- Plenty of water
- Outlines are mandatory- will be handed out in classroom.
