Course description:
The purpose of this course is to provide continuing education and up-to-date advanced hostage/crisis negotiation techniques that are current and relevant. This course will begin with a review of fundamentals, explore the psychopathology of those individuals who have been identified as a high prevalence of barricade situation involvement, and involve class participation with scenario-based de-escalation training and table-top exercises.
Instructor Bio: Timothy Quigley, Special Agent, FBI (retired), currently a Professor at Coastal Carolina University teaching Psychopathology, has interviewed, investigated and prosecuted numerous individuals who violated such federal crimes as Money Laundering, Securities Fraud, Mortgage Fraud, Advanced Title III Drug Cases and other federal violations. As a Hostage/Crisis Negotiator and certified instructor, Tim has organized and facilitated the FBI’s 40 Hour Crisis Negotiation Course, been involved in national and international kidnappings, and has deployed with the Horry County Crisis Negotiation Team and the Myrtle Beach Police Crisis Negotiation Team. Tim’s education includes a B.S. in Accounting, a M.S. in Forensic Accounting and a Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology.
