This 40-hour block of instruction will guide the student through the process of recognizing and identifying deception clues and in formulating questions to gain compliance and truthful responses to questions. In the classroom, the student will be given circumstances involving an interviewee and the dynamics of a situation requiring a compliance-gaining interview and then present a considered interviewing strategy. The student, having observed a related interview, will be able to provide a critique to the interviewer, highlighting the positive and negative aspects of the interview and offer a strategy for the enhancement of persuasive abilities. The course is taught by Don Rabon, a highly renowned expert in the art of interview and interrogation. Student will be required to have the textbook “Interviewing and Interrogation,3rd Edition; Rabon, Chapman” for the class.
