NOTE: This class is specifically designed for law enforcement officers serving on a college campus.

This course provides an overview of the specific legal issues confronting campus law enforcement officers.   Topics covered include: territorial and subject matter jurisdiction; Fourth Amendment search review; the status of the dormitory room under the Fourth Amendment; the search authority of non-law enforcement employees of public universities and colleges; the search authority of non-law enforcement employees at private universities and colleges; the search authority of campus law enforcement officers; and, drafting search warrants in the campus setting.   This course is ideal for all campus law enforcement officers, supervisors and command staff.
