DESCRIPTION:Course Description: This 3-day Level 2 Course will demand proficiency with the Fundamentals established in the Level 1 course. Students will encounter increasingly complex problems and will learn to apply the system to mitigate them. Scenarios that include hallways with multiple rooms and room configurations that restrict numbers but require additional movement within. This will challenge students to properly process and clear these spaces. Students will learn to be efficient and maintain as clear as possible problems\, necessitating coordination of the team in multiple small elements working simultaneously. SUMMARY:Drones for First Responders
DESCRIPTION:Course Description: This course prepares public safety emergency responders for small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS)/Drone flight certification. Topics include flight theory\, flight operations\, and flight training utilizing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Pilot – Small\, Unmanned Aircraft Systems Study Guide\, North Carolina Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operator\, Permit Knowledge Test Guide\, and North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT)\, Division of Aviation UAS flight standards & best practices. Learners will gain an introduction to commercial\, government\, and recreational drone applications. Coursework will highlight topics such as regulations\, weather\, airspace\, human factors\, and the performance of Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS). Upon completion\, students will be prepared to take the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Knowledge Test and the NCDOT UAS Operator Permit. SUMMARY:Profiling Violent Crime
DESCRIPTION:Course Description: This is an introduction to the technique of criminal investigative analysis (profiling) as it applies to death investigations. Included is a brief history of the technique and the so-called differences between inductive\, deductive\, and investigative psychology of criminal profiling. The course focuses on the various motives for murder and how identifying the motive\, as displayed in the crime\, will reduce the size of the suspect pool. Also included will be how the behavior exhibited by the offender at the scene can be used to determine what kind\, if any\, defense the offender may claim\, such as self-defense\, not guilty by reason of insanity\, or guilty but mentally ill.
