SUMMARY:Interview and Interrogation for Patrol
DESCRIPTION:Course Description: This introductory class is designed for patrol officers or community corrections officers who routinely interview suspects\, victims\, and witnesses during an initial investigation. In an interview\, as a communication event\, the interviewer has a number of established goals: gather data or information from the interviewee; determine whether the interviewee is truthful and\, if not\, identify the form of the deception; transition the interviewee from unwilling to willing. Toward this end\, the interviewer must be able to question. A question is an activating event. If the questioning strategy employed is not productive\, the interviewer must use additional approaches until the most appropriate strategy for the interviewee is found. Once the interviewee begins to talk\, the interviewer must be able to detect deception. The form of the deception and its specific elements must be identified. The interviewer must have more than a “feeling” that the interviewee is not truthful. This knowledge will lead the interviewer to the last necessary skill. \n\nInstructor: Blue Line Group\nDate: November 4-6\, 2026\nTime: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.\nHours: 24\nLocation: North Campus\, Building N110\, Room 204\nFill out the registration form here

SUMMARY:Tactical Mindset
DESCRIPTION:Course Description: Tactical Mindset is an intense course that will challenge the officers. This course is designed for patrolmen\, detectives\, school resource officers\, and SWAT operators. Officers will be challenged through lectures\, discussions\, and video footage of fellow officers involved in a shooting. This will be a classroom\, and class participation will be requested. This course will explore officers’ mental and physical health. SUMMARY:Critical Incident Stress Management: Assisting Individuals In Crisis and Group Crisis Intervention
DESCRIPTION:Course Description: This 3-day course combines ALL of the content of ICISF’s Assisting Individuals in Crisis & Group Crisis Intervention courses. Crisis Intervention is NOT psychotherapy; rather\, it is a specialized acute emergency mental health intervention that requires specialized training. Fundamentals of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) will be outlined\, and participants will leave with the knowledge and tools to provide several group crisis interventions\, specifically demobilizations\, defusings\, and the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD). The need for appropriate follow-up services and referrals when necessary will also be discussed.
A tactical mindset will assist the officers in preparation for that deadly encounter. It is also designed to open the mindset to understanding the obstacles that will be encountered after the shooting. This course will provide ideas and things that need to be in place and already shared with loved ones in the officer’s life when the day comes. This course will also assist the officers in preparing to support their fellow officers and their families after a deadly encounter or a use-of-deadly-force encounter. The course will allow officers to face reality and challenge themselves mentally and physically. It will get deep into the psychological and physiological aspects of a shooting. At the end of this block of instruction\, every student will take something back home and also leave with a stronger commitment to be more dedicated\, motivated\, obligated\, and determined to be ready for the fight when it shows up. \n\nInstructor: Specialized Realistic Training; A.A. SUMMARY:Investigative Discourse Analysis (Level 1)
DESCRIPTION:Course Description: The systematic analysis of written discourse (statements\, transcripts\, letters\, etc.) can indicate the truthfulness of the individual\, as well as identify the critical areas of the case that require further inquiry or investigation. Often\, written discourse relevant to an inquiry is only seen as a piece of paper to be filed. It is thought to be only useful at face value – as a record\, sworn statement\, or archive. In Investigative Discourse Analysis the participant learns how these documents can be put to work as inquiry-related decision-making tools and indicators of deception that can serve to carry the inquiry to conclusion. Within the program\, all concepts presented will allow for the participants to “do” in order to enhance the learning experience. Actual statements\, transcripts\, and letters will be utilized\, analyzed\, and expanded. The hands-on method is designed to address each succeeding objective before continuing to the next. The course involves the presentation and application of information related to the analysis process of statements\, transcripts\, or other textual documentation related to an investigation. Exercises involving actual case statements are utilized for analysis by the participant to relate theory to application and to facilitate the learning process. This is a 40 hour course and is taught by world renowned expert Don Rabon \nUtilizes “Investigative Discourse Analysis\, 3rd Ed.\, Rabon/Chapman\, Carolina Academic Press \n\nInstructor: Don Rabon\nDate: June 8-July 10\, 2026\nHours: 40\nLocation: ONLINE\nCourse ID143509\nFill out the registration form here

SUMMARY:Opportunity and the Fraud-Related Interview (ITRP-eligible)
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Don Rabon\nDate: May 1-29\, 2026\nTotal Hours: 24\nONLINE\nCourse ID: 139454\nFill out the registration form here\nRequired Text: “Fraud Related Interviewing” 2nd edition\, Rabon/Chapman\, available from Carolina Academic Press\, (CAP-Press.Com)\n\n“Opportunity” is the linchpin of the Fraud Triangle – the moment when control gaps\, weak governance\, or unchecked authority allow a would‑be fraudster to act. This 24‑hour exploration introduces investigators\, auditors\, compliance professionals\, and HR interviewers to (1) recognize and document opportunity indicators and (2) adapt their interview strategy to exploit those cues\, elicit high‑value disclosures\, and secure reliable admissions. Opportunity Risks – Identify structural\, procedural\, and cultural conditions that create opportunity for fraud within an organization.\n2. Link Opportunity to Behavioral Cues – Translate control weaknesses into predictable rationalizations\, concealment tactics\, and verbal/non‑verbal signals during interviews.\n3. Design Targeted Interview Plans – Build question funnels that surface opportunity‑specific information\, validate control failures\, and confront deceptive narratives.\n4. Document & Report Findings – Produce clear\, legally defensible interview notes and an investigative memorandum that ties opportunity indicators to fraudulent acts (or clears the subject).
