The Graduation and Credential Advisor determines graduation eligibility. Students who meet graduation eligibility requirements will be notified of their pending graduation through their Rowan-Cabarrus email account. Any student who believes they are eligible for graduation, but has not received notification shortly after midterm, should contact the Graduation and Credential Advisor<\/a>. Students who enroll in courses for the second minimester to complete their program of study should receive notification within three weeks of the first day of the minimester.<\/p>\n Upon receiving the graduation eligibility notification from the Graduation and Credential Advisor, students will be directed to complete the required Graduation Information form<\/a>. Please do not submit the form until you are directed to do so. This form only needs completed once during the graduating term, even if you are earning multiple degrees, diplomas or certificates.\u00a0 Students completing their program of study in the summer semester must be enrolled in their final courses by April 20 to ensure their eligibility to participate in the spring Commencement Ceremony. The Graduation Information Form must be submitted by April 20 to have your name printed in the spring Commencement program.\u00a0<\/p>\n Please be aware that withdrawing from or failing a required course may change your graduation eligibility. We strongly encourage you to meet with your program chair or advisor for guidance. Re-enrolling in a required course for the next semester may also jeopardize your graduation status. Please email the Graduation and Credential Advisor\u00a0<\/a>if you have questions about re-enrolling in a required course.<\/p>\n The Graduation Office completes graduation processes several weeks after final grades have been posted.\u00a0 Students meeting graduation requirements will be notified by email. Award documents<\/a> (degrees, diplomas, certificates) will be mailed by a third-party vendor within eight to ten weeks after the final evaluations are completed. Before sending out transcripts, students should check to make sure graduation has been posted.<\/p>\n Any student receiving a grade of \u201cI\u201d (Incomplete) for a course that will determine graduation eligibility for the current term needs to satisfactorily complete the course by the end of the following semester or as agreed upon in advance by the student and the instructor.<\/p>\n Students completing the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Engineering or Associate in Fine Arts, who have a valid reason to delay graduation, may submit an appeal to postpone graduation for one semester. The request must be sent to the Graduation and Credential Advisor<\/a>\u00a0no later than the last day of the semester that program requirements are completed.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text disabled_on=”on|on|on” _builder_version=”4.27.6″ _module_preset=”default” disabled=”on” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n Students who successfully complete the Arts and Sciences program will earn the Associate in Arts degree, Associate in Engineering,\u00a0Associate in Fine Arts in Visual Arts degree or Associate in Science degree.\u00a0 The Associate in Applied Science degree is awarded to students who successfully complete a two-year Applied Science programs. Diplomas and certificates are available in many of the Associate in Applied Science programs.<\/p>\n For most programs, a student is eligible for graduation when they have satisfied the specific requirements of the college and the program for which they are enrolled, completed a minimum of 25% of required hours in the program at Rowan-Cabarrus, and have earned a program grade point average of at least 2.0. Students accepted into programs with competitive entrance requirements may have to meet other graduation criteria.<\/p>\n Students continuously enrolled may graduate using the catalog under which initially enrolled or the current catalog (please contact the Graduation and Credential Advisor<\/a>\u00a0if you want to change your catalog year). As outlined in\u00a0Maintaining an Active Record<\/a>, a\u00a0student\u2019s record will be made inactive if they do not enroll for two consecutive terms (summer term excluded). If a student\u2019s record is made inactive, the catalog year will be updated based on the semester the student returns.<\/p>\n It is the student\u2019s responsibility to ensure that they have met all program and course requirements to earn their degree, diploma, and\/or certificate. A minimum of 25% of the total number of credit hours required for graduation in a specific program must be taken at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
