Meet Tara. She has a unique love for something that makes many of us gro<\/span>a<\/span>n: data. After <\/span>many <\/span>years of seeing the impact data can have on <\/span>an<\/span> organization, Tara decided to<\/span> follow her passion<\/span>,<\/span> <\/span>take her skills<\/span>,<\/span> <\/span>and leap into full-time entrepreneurship. She now has the powerful opportunity to serve clients making a measurable impact <\/span>in <\/span>their community<\/span>,<\/span> and she\u2019s helping them with the \u201cmeasurable\u201d part.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the realm of mission-driven organizations, passion is the driving force. These organizations have compelling stories to share with their supporters<\/span> and potential funders<\/span>, but systematically tracking and documenting their <\/span>programs<\/span> can be a<\/span> struggle given their strained capacity and limited knowledge in that realm<\/span>. This is where Tara\u2019s company, Terra Dati, steps in to help organizations track and understand their impact, strengths and opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n

For one of Tara’s <\/span>non-profit clients<\/span>, her evaluation <\/span>planning <\/span>process is running parallel to their program development. The very act of setting up the evaluation plan <\/span>is informing<\/span> the program design, ensuring that benchmarks are both realistic and tailored to the specific goals of the organization. Her dynamic approach <\/span>is allowing the<\/span> organization to fine-tune the program as the initiative progresses.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a business owner who now has<\/span> the freedom to select her projects, Tara has discovered a newfound creative spark in her work. Each client presents a unique canvas, and Tara revels in the challenge of tailoring her approach to suit the specific needs and nuances of the organization at hand.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her greatest challenge? Learning the ins and outs of starting and growing <\/span>a<\/span> business<\/span> for the first time<\/span>. That\u2019s how Tara became connected to Meg<\/span>, <\/span>Director of<\/span> the Rowan-Cabarrus Small Business Center.<\/span><\/p>\n

In their initial <\/span>one-on-one <\/span>sessions,<\/span> Tara <\/span>immediately felt comfortable with<\/span> Meg’s coaching style. <\/span>She found it to be a judgment-free space, creating<\/span> a <\/span>safe <\/span>platform for growth. Meg met Tara where she was, recognizing the individual pace at which progress is made.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another area where<\/span> Tara <\/span>needed support was<\/span> marketing. Meg connected <\/span>Tara to<\/span> <\/span>a marketing consultant<\/span>, a counselor contracted through the SBC, <\/span>who <\/span>helped her form marketing strategies as she was preparing to launch her website and messaging <\/span>for<\/span> her new business<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
