After more than three decades as a registered nurse, Peatra is building something deeply personal through her new business, Rock Solid Transformation. Rooted in holistic wellness, her mission is to help people become healthier, more balanced versions of themselves through sustainable lifestyle changes and supportive guidance.

Peatra has spent 32 years caring for others in the nursing profession and currently works in the mental health field. While she has always been passionate about helping people, she began feeling drawn toward a different approach to healthcare.

“I coach from a wellness model instead of the sick-care model we currently practice in the United States,” she said. “I want to help people become the best version of themselves.”

Last year, Peatra completed a nurse coaching program and pursued advanced certifications, earning both her Nurse Coach Board Certification and Holistic Nurse Board Certification. Through extensive coaching hours and national exams, she built the foundation for a new entrepreneurial path focused on wellness, mindfulness, and lifestyle transformation.

“I’ve lived the impact that holistic wellness can make myself,” she said. “I want to support people and partner with them through that process.”

In December 2025, she officially registered Rock Solid Transformation, a name inspired by the meaning of her own name.

“Rock Solid isn’t just a brand. It’s my identity. Peatra – a variation of Petra – literally means rock. When it came time to name my business, the choice wasn’t branding – it was alignment. The decision was easy…Rock Solid Transformation.

My name means rock.

My work builds rock‑solid lives.

And my business brings those two truths together – with purpose,” she explained.

While she had the passion and expertise to coach clients, Peatra quickly realized she needed help navigating the business side of entrepreneurship and connected with the Small Business Center (SBC) at Rowan-Cabarrus.

Starting near the end of 2025, Peatra immersed herself in workshops and counseling opportunities through the SBC. In just the first few months of 2026, she attended many workshops covering topics like taxes, branding, marketing, YouTube strategy and business development.

She also began working one-on-one with SBC business counselor Grant Colgan, meeting with him five times already this year. According to Peatra, that individualized support has been instrumental in helping her build confidence and direction as a new entrepreneur.

“I would not be as far as I am without Grant and the workshops I’ve taken,” she said. “He doesn’t just care about me as a business owner. He listens and cares about me as a person.”

Grant encouraged Peatra to join the Rowan Chamber of Commerce, attend networking events and trade shows, strengthen her online presence, and think strategically about how she tells her story. He also helped her prepare for local events and tradeshow opportunities, guiding her through the details needed to show up professionally and confidently.

Through those conversations, Peatra has continued refining her business vision. Rock Solid Transformation now focuses on supporting individuals, small groups, and organizations through wellness coaching centered around mindfulness, chronic health management, stress reduction, burnout prevention and corporate wellness through sustainable lifestyle transformation.

“I want people not to need the healthcare model the way they do now,” she said. “Many chronic conditions can be improved naturally through healthier habits and support.”

The SBC also connected her with instructors and resources that strengthened different aspects of her business. She credits instructor Aaron Means with helping her improve her website and marketing approach after attending one of his Constant Contact workshops.

As she continues building momentum, Peatra is focused on growing her client base, improving her messaging, and strengthening her online presence through testimonials, blog content and social media.

Looking ahead, her goal is to transition into wellness coaching full-time by the end of 2026.

“It’s about truly helping people and making a difference in their lives,” said Peatra. “I want to work fully in a wellness model.”

For Peatra, the Small Business Center provided more than just business education. It gave her the confidence, structure, and support system needed to turn a vision into a real business.

To learn more about Rock Solid Transformation, visit her website.

Meet Peatra.
