New Business:

  • LRC Proposal-Coffee Cart (Start-up costs not to exceed $1300.00)
  • In an effort to increase foot traffic in the LRC. The LRC has teamed up with Student Life to provide coffee for the students at North, South, NCRC campus. These stations will include Keurig brewing station, K-cups, cups, lids, napkins, and carious condiments
  • Bobby Ingram made a motion “Right Direction Coffee Station be in the LRC’s located on North South, and NCRC campuses. SGA will provide $1313.01 for coffee supplies, and start up cost.

Club Reports:

AHR Chiller- 1) Senator attended the September SGA Business Meeting on Tuesday, September 6th. along with both club advisors. Senator attempted to attend NavSync training on September 30th but times were changed with no notice given to those already set to attend the original training times.
2) Chillers Club Executive Committee met on Tuesday, 6 September for their monthly meeting which addressed lottery events. student meetings, fundraisers, charter paperwork, club constitution additional upcoming events significant to AHR Program and ASHRAE Student Chapter. Committee unanimously voted in new Treasurer, Reese Schiff, pending student approval.
3) Chillers Club completed two September Fall Lottery events. (a) CIub provided 9 student volunteers for the United Way Cabarrus, Habitat for Humanity Thrivent Home work in Concord on Thursday. September 1. (b) ChiIIers Club provided 10 student volunteers for the International Celebration (formerly Hispanic Heritage Food Tasting) at South Campus, Wednesday, September 28.
4) Chillers Club student meetings were held during the week of Saturday, 10 September through Thursday, 15 September. Students voted on various items such as: (a) Approved. via simple majority vote, to spend up to $250 of Club funds for fundraising needs for this semester; (b) Approved, via simple majority vote, for Reese Schiff to become the Club Treasurer; (c) Students approved Club Constitution with no changes; (d) Approved, by simple majority vote, the spending of $125 of Club funds for the top three student finishers in the upcoming 3rd Annual CBTC Chili Cook-off. 5) Club sponsored the RCCC ASHRAE Chapter meeting held on Wednesday night, 14 September. Students filled out membership forms to join ASHRAE and learned what ASHRAE is and how that professional organization helps them. Learning about scholarship opportunities and grant funding for equipment and some competitions through ASHRAE. Three students also attended the monthly ASHRAE training luncheon held in Charlotte at Byron’s South End on Thursday, September 1st along with both advisors, AHR Chair and faculty. 6) Encouraged student participation and volunteering and making suggestions.
Automotive/Skills USA – In our club we voted in all Executive Board members. We are still getting ideas and plans for the fall festival. Which we are still waiting some information on event, power, and etc. We have completed voting on our club constitution, and our club charter been voted on, and is waiting for approval or any correction we need to make on our charter.

CKEC (Cabarrus/Kannapolis Early College) – We have completed our fall festival, and are now starting our annual can food drive. This Friday we are doing a pep rally to get everyone excited for the can food drive.

Cosmetology – No report – absent

Criminal Justice – No report – absent

Dental Assisting – We have two upcoming events this month. We will be having a brushing station at the fall festival on October 15th, as well as a Zumba event here at the North Campus on October 22nd. We also plan on having our club meetings the first week of this month on Monday and Thursday October 3rd and October 6th.

Early Childhood – We currently have 12 members. The clubs first service project went well. We had six people from our club that helped at this event. Our first meeting is October 5th,2016 @ 6pm on South Campus. Our constitution shall be voted during the meeting.

L.I.F.T. – We voted on leadership roles, and we are attending a concert. We also have bible study.

M.I.S.T.E.R. – Club meets on Tuesday and Thursday of each month. Mister will be looking to do Assault on liter act community service with Winecoff Elementary school, Concord, NC, and North Rowan Elementary School in Spencer, NC. During the month of October. Mister will be looking to partner with the Nursing Club to do workshops on the importance of Males taking care of themselves with medical screening.

Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) – In the month September PBL held our first meeting. We have a few new members, but we are working hard to acquire more. We have a big PBL meeting this Thursday at South Campus with other PBL club.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) – No report – absent

Prism- At this time we are working on communication and getting all info needed to get things going. I am working on the NAVSync site in order to get the club running like it should be.

Racing Club – No report – absent

RCEC – RCEC is excited to announce that our dance is on November 4th,2016 with a fall festival theme. We will be finalizing spirit gear for our school. We just completed a fundraiser that raised money for our school, and all evening. We cannot wait to see how the dance turns out.

Rotaract- No report – absent

Student Nursing Association (SNA) – No report – absent

Veterans Club – Next meeting is October 5th, 2016-Charter discussed. Constitution was discussed. Visit for a few member and in formed them of event and task for the club.

Welding – Welding Club held their first meeting for the year. At the meeting officers were elected. Helped with the blood drive by seven members. The Club completed on Campus Community Service Project.

W.O.W – Club meeting was held on September 16th. We voted on our new constitution. Talked about NAVsync Community events. Went over Roberts rules. Next meeting is October 7th @ 11am in the student center. New W.OW. logo was also finished and ready for use on 9/29. Dates for our events are still being determined. We plan on doing a hot coca event & the Ronald McDonald House.
