Recommendation for Annual Club Account Maximum Balance to begin the 2017-18 academic year.

I, Liana Walker from SGA, Secretary/Treasurer motion that each club carry forward a maximum of 10 percent of their original balance to the next academic year to be implemented in the 2017-18 school year. Any money over the maximum will be place in the general student body account. Xavier Evans seconded motion. Motion passed.

Club Reports:

AHR Chiller- 1) Senator attended the December SGA Business Meeting on Tuesday, December 6, along with both Club Advisors. 2) Chillers Club Executive Committee met on Tuesday,6 December 2016 and again on Tuesday, 17 January for our monthly meeting which addressed lottery events, student meetings, possible fundraisers, and additional upcoming events significant to SGA, AHR Program and ASHRAE Student Chapter. 3) Chillers Club student meetings were held during the week of 6 December through 14 December and again from 17 January through 24 January 2017. Students voted and approved, via simple majority vote, to spend up to $1000 to sponsor AHR, CMT, and ELC students and advisors in SkillsUSA memberships and NC State SkillsUSA contests. 4) December 2016 and January 2017 events Chillers students participated in: A) All Fall Lottery events have been completed. B) 3 students attended the monthly ASHRAE training luncheon held in Charlotte at Byron’s South End on Thursday, January 5, along with both advisors, AHR chair and faculty. C) Chillers Club participated in the MLK Jr. Breakfast Birthday Celebration on Thursday, 12 January by providing/serving breakfast to CBTC students, faculty, and staff. D) Club sponsored the RCCC ASHRAE Chapter training meeting held on Wednesday night, 25 January. 6) Encouraged students participation and volunteering and making suggestions. Emphasized participation in NavSync.

Automotive/Skills USA – We are on our second set of candy bars for our fundraiser. Our next meeting will be February 8, 2017.

CKEC (Cabarrus/Kannapolis Early College) – This week CKEC is doing our annual spirit week. We are also doing “penny wars” to help raise money victory junction.

Cosmetology – In our January meeting, we voted in new officers with a vacancy still in place for the secretary. We are discussing travel plans for a competition in April. We are also reviewing community service options.

Criminal Justices- On January 5 2017- The Criminal Justice Association worked the Welcome back event from 3 pm- 5pm on South campus. On January 27, 2017, The Criminal Justice Association held their monthly business meeting from 12pm-1pm on North Campus. We discussed job fair details including agencies attending and logistics. We also discussed our guest speaker coming in February.

Dental Assisting – The last meeting we voted on what we wanted to use the travel grant for; we also voted on the date for the pinning ceremony. We also voted on whether we wanted to switch events with the Nursing program for the blood drive.

Education Club- We had are first meeting of the semester. It was held at an evening education class, trying to reach across the demographic. We will apply for a Spring Fling table to achieve our on campus service goal. We received approval for our completed off campus service project, our current secretary is resigning. The VP will take up the duties until a new secretary is voted in. We are still having trouble with people not on Navsync or knowing about it.

L.I.F.T. – Absent- No Report

M.I.S.T.E.R. – M.I.S.T.E.R meetings on North Campus are now on Friday’s, this will be posted on NavSync. M.I.S.T.E.R will be also doing a campus service project-giving faculty and staff cards made by students thanking them for their service. During spring break, we will be volunteering at the Habitat House in Rowan County.

Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) – Absent- No report

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) – Our next meeting will be February 27, 2017. PTK Regional Conference will be March 11-12 in Raleigh, NC.

Prism- Absent-No Report

Radiography – Absent – No report

RCEC – We are planning a spring formal dance for the Early College students. We are also planning a field day in March for Early College students. Through the month of February, we are collecting money for pasta 4 pennies, which helps leukemia and lymphoma.

Rotaract – Absent- No Report.

Science, Biotechnology, Math and Science – No report – absent

Student Nursing Association (SNA) – No report

Veterans Club – Our next meeting will be on Wednesday February 8 at 12 pm. The meeting will be on both North and South campus.

Welding – We had our annual Holiday dinner Tuesday November 22. We discussed MAWS topics that were coming up early next Spring and made plans for this coming Spring Semester.

W.O.W – January 31 was our last meeting. We discussed our lottery event for the next day. We also email Ronald McDonald House for dates on volunteering for breakfast. There was discussion about new ways to get more members and to have some ideas for the next meeting in February. Our next meeting is on February 15th at 12 pm.
