Foundation Golf Tournament Sponsorship
I, Jacob Hernandez, from SGA Public Information Officer (South Campus) make a motion the SGA donates $300 to the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Foundation golf tournament to purchase two beverage carts on October, 20, 2017.

Motion passed

Club Reports:

AHR Chiller- Chillers meeting held on Monday, August 21. We took an oath. We also went over spending plans for the 2017-2018 year. We went over student positions and duties and all possible fundraisers. Students voted and approved $300 for 10 student to get memberships.

Art Club- This is the first meeting SGA meeting attended by the Art Club. As the representative, of the Art club will be voting on all necessary prerequisites elections while maintaining communication with all officer and club members

Automotive/Skills USA –First meeting was last Monday to discuss meeting times and fundraisers for our candy bars and to decide when to vote to fill our positions in our student government.

CKEC (Cabarrus/Kannapolis Early College) – CKEC will be having their first meeting on 8-23-17 we will be discussing our fall schedule. We are also going to be discussing our hunger drive event and our day of caring event.

Cosmetology – Cosmetology had their first community service project on August 19. Also had their first campus project on august 21st. Our first meeting will be held on August 24. Currently working on Alumni symposium.  Approved budget for the haunting on October 27th & 28th. Working with the art club on collaborating with upcoming event.

Criminal Justice Association – Absent- No report Dental Assisting – Absent-No report

Education Club – The Education club at RCCC has been actively recruiting new members. We have had 30 students invited and 6 that have joined. We participated in the welcome back event on South Campus where 15 of our invites came. Our first club meeting will be Monday September 18th at 6 pm.

L.I.F.T. –  Absent- No report

M.I.S.T.E.R. – Absent – No Report

Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) – PBL has a great semester planned. We have scheduled our kick-off meeting/ social mixer for August 23rd in building 600 room 107 from 1-2pm. Here we will be going over important information on PBL and what PBL is about. We will be having a drawing for a gas card at this event. PBL will be attending a NC regional kick off meeting at Pfeiffer University with a tentative date of September 21 from 1-4pm. Our fall leadership conference will be held November 3-4th in Greensboro NC. We will be participating in the lotter events Global Distinction and constitution day on North campus in the month of September. We have a tentative recruiting plans with the high school PBL chapter known as FBLA, as well as recruiting in business classes throughout RCCC. We have four committees that are as followed: Professional development (Angie Robinson), Community Service (Angelica Mills), Fundraising (Johnathon Furr), and Recruitment (Angelica Mills).

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) – PTK is preparing for their first meeting which will take place on Friday, September 8th during lunch at NCRC. The society is planning to participate this Thursday at College night out.

Prism – Prism kicked off the fall semester by attending the welcome back event. So far, we have some people interested in the club 15 to be exact. Prism is still trying to figure out a date for their first meeting of the year. This meeting will focus on electing an executive board. As well as finding volunteers for our next lottery event.

Radiography – Our club discussed what is expected of the club and what to do during fall lottery events. We used a random name generator to select names and voted to secure spots. We discussed our community project plans with class and voted to do a dinner for veterans and also reached out to a veteran’s museum in China Grove in hopes to volunteer with them. We then discussed ideas for our Breast cancer booth at the fall festival, such as games, information to educate the campus and items needed. Voted yes on serving dinner to veterans and yes for the breast cancer booth.

RCEC –. The RCEC club is kicking off the 2017-2018 school year by holding an ice-cream social on Friday August 25th for all the RCEC students and our first meeting was held on August 14th when our officer and senators were all officially inducted. After the ice cream, social, we will begin working on our spirit gear for all RCEC students and planning the fall/winter dance.

Rotaract – Absent- No report

Student Nursing Association (SNA) – No report

Veterans Club – The vets club participated in the club hub during the welcome back event. WE are currently talking to the members about the best time to have meetings.

Welding – This week we will be participating in the RCCC college night out on Thursday August 24th. We intend to use this month and early next month to focus on working with the new students and recruiting them to the welding club.

W.O.W – Wow attended welcome back event. Wow has a meeting August 23rd 2017 at 12pm. Wow will also be attending college night out on august 24th 2017, along with women’s empowerment event at UNC- Charlotte on august 26th 2017. Wow members attending August 22nd 2017.
