New Business:

Casey Cook, SGA Parliamentarian, made a motion that stated “The student senate vote on how to select students for the discussion with Dr. Spalding on November 9, 2017 from 11 am – 1 pm. The three options are: Random Drawing, Volunteer, or by Invitation. Total votes were For 6 – Against 4 – Abstain 6, SGA President Liana Walker broke the tie and was decided that students would be chosen by Invitation.

Club Reports:

AHR Chiller- Chillers Club Executive Committee met on Wednesday, 13 September for their monthly meeting which addressed lottery events, student meeting, fundraisers, chapter paperwork, club constitution, and additional upcoming events significant to AHR Program and ASHRAE Student Chapter. Chiller Club student meetings were held during the week of Monday, 18 September through Saturday, 23 September. Students voted on various items such as: (a) voted and approved to spend $150 for prizes for th fourth Annual CBTC Chili Competition; (b) voted and approved to spend $346 on Pancake and Hotdog Fundraiser to be held on Wednesday, 27 September; (c) students approved of Club Constitution changes to take effect immediately. Chillers Club worked CBTC Blood Drive on Wednesday, 13 September. Students attended and participated in September ASHRAE Student Chapter meeting and are looking forward to Construction Technologies Group Internship Fair being held on Wednesday, 18 October. Encouraged student participation and volunteering and marking suggestions.

Art Club – Art Club is closing in on completing chapter for submission. Currently discussing ideas for fundraising and community service activities that the Art Club could establish or become a part of, Discussions held of events we’ll be assisting and participating in.

Automotive/Skills USA – Automotive/Skills USA finished Candy Sell meeting! However Automotive/Skills USA are developing a community event with women that work in the Density department.

CKEC (Cabarrus/Kannapolis Early College) – CKEC is finishing the final touches on there “Souper Bowl” event which will be on October 19. CKEC are also preparing for our Day of caring event on October 11. That’s basically where we will be volunteering all over the county as a school. October 11 CKEC will be doing their service project and going to be volunteering with our SOAR program on campus. CKEC is also going to start a Hunger Drive that they do each year.

Cosmetology – Cosmetology says that The Haunting is a GO! Student Appreciation Event budget of $200.00 and it has been voted as a passed. Student Appreciation Day will be healed October 26, 2017 during the (Night) and October 27 during the (Day). Working on final food preparations are still being discussion. Cosmetology held a SFX class on October 2 with Reynolds Maternal of Charlotte. Travel destinations for spring are still being discussed and eligibility requirements have been discussed, and votes have passed. Completed International Culture and Cuisine Event and we had a blast doing it!! Cosmetology had three prospective speakers that are in communication to hold our first Alumni Symposium. Date and topics TBA. Spring competition is still being planned because we had to push back the due date because of facility relocation.

Education Club-  Absent – No report

L.I.F.T. – L.I.F.T is on a role already on their three meeting for this semester, which will be on October 6, 2017 which is on Friday, however they are deciding when to give out their Life Book.

M.I.S.T.E.R. – The MISTER Club will be reportedly hosting the “Bow-Tie 101 learn how to tie a tie” at North Campus on Wednesday October 11, 2017 and on South Campus October 12, 2017.

Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) – Absent – No report

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) – Absent – No report

Prism- Prism as of right now is figuring out ideas for Fall Festival. Prism is working on their constitution and club chapter before the due date. Prism is also trying to figure out their community service project. Our next meeting is at the end of October where they will talk about ”Stereotypes.”

RCEC –Absent – No report

Rotaract – Working with Lisa Shores to arrange meeting date convent for members to discuss recruitment and projects.

Student Nursing Association (SNA) – Absent- No report

Veterans Club – Veterans Club held a meeting on September 28,2017; passing out t-shirts to members and discussed vets with Dennis Rivers. Our community project date. Bingo Night sponsorship at the VA Hospital, was finalized for December 8,2017. Discussed charges to the constitution and charter. We also had members volunteer for officer’s positions. A vote will be on NAVsync soon.

Welding – Welding last meeting they appointed officer for the 2017-2018 fall/spring, also discussed how the Welding Club will provide memberships for AWS. Discussed plans for Thanksgiving, Tuesday November 21 and discussed options for flood/hurricane relief.

W.O.W –Wow is on a role just voted Shariea Butler as their new Vice President and voted Briana Sinclair as their new Secretary/Treasurer, and voted in Jessica Jacobsen as their new Senator.
