Take the High School Equivalency Tests (GED) at RCCC
The Testing Center staff applauds your decision to take the high school equivalency tests. Many individuals just like you have taken similar examinations in order to obtain a better job or to continue their education. According to the GED Testing Service, the tests you will take assess your knowledge and academic skills against those of today’s traditional high school graduates. So come prepared and do your best.
- RCCC offers preparation courses through our Pre-College Studies Program on the North Campus and South Campus.
- Purchase Official GED test prep material from the GEDTS (workbooks, practice tests, etc.).
About the Online High School Equivalency (GED) Tests
The 2014 version is a high school equivalency test battery that measures skills in four subject areas. All tests must be taken and passed to earn your high school equivalency diploma. The amount of time required to complete the entire battery of tests is 420 minutes (7 hours). Studying, preparation, and practice-tests are recommended before taking the official test. Reasoning through Language Arts – 150 minutes (a 10 minute scheduled break is provided)
Areas tested include reading comprehension, writing, and language conventions and usage.
Mathematics – 115 minutes
Areas tested include quantitative problem solving and algebraic problem solving.
Social Studies – 90 minutes
Areas tested include United States history, economics, geography and the world, and civics and government.
Science – 90 minutes
Areas tested include life science, physical science, and earth and space science.
A minimum score of 150 points is required for passing of each test.
Each individual test is $20.00. The total cost for completion of the entire battery is $80.00.
