Cisco Discovery Networking I (CCENT Prep)

This course will prepare students for entry-level network and help desk support positions, and the CCENT Cisco certification exam.

The CCENT is an optional first step toward earning the Cisco CCNA network associate certification, which is the foundational certification for networking careers.

Students will receive hands-on introduction to networking and internet technologies, using tools and hardware commonly found in home and small business environments. Course topics include basic training in routing and switching, cabling, remote access, IP addressing, wireless configuration, network security, troubleshooting, and network services such as file sharing, email services, and related ISP services.

  • HYBRID COURSE – 104 hrs
  • Classroom hours: M/W 4:30-8:30 p.m. at CBTC, Room 9104
  • NetLab online hours: Tuesdays for 4 hours

    1. Navigate to WebAdvisor.
    2. Select “Students,” then “Search, Register and Pay for Continuing Education Classes.”
    3. To search for your class, type “CISCO” as a Key Word.
    4. Check the box to select the class and select “Submit.”
    5. Enter your information and follow instructions to register and pay.
