What Type of Student Are You?

Continuing education applies to short-term, often a single class enrollment, that leads to a job credential or certificate. Also included are short-term classes, which allow you to maintain a license.

Curriculum applies to a series of classes taken in multiple terms to earn a diploma or degree.

Curriculum Students Without a Login

  1. Navigate to WebAdvisor.
  2. Select the “Students” button.
  3. Under the heading “Academic Planning & Profile,” select “Search for Courses”.
  4. You have two options to search for your courses:
    • By Course Subject – simply find the subject alphabetically or by typing the subject in the provided search box.
    • An Advanced Search that allows you to search based on term, days of the week, location, etc.
  5. Based on the search parameters you select, your search results will be displayed. You can also filter your results at this time.

Curriculum Students with a Student Login

  1. Navigate to WebAdvisor.
  2. Select the “Students” button.
  3. Under the heading “Academic Planning & Profile,” select “Search for Courses”.
  4. You have two options to search for your courses:
    • By Course Subject – simply find the subject alphabetically or by typing the subject in the provided search box.
    • An Advanced Search that allows you to search based on term, days of the week, location, etc.
  5. Based on the search parameters you select, your search results will be displayed. You can also filter your results and add courses to your course plan.
  6. Once you’ve found the course, select “View Available Sections for XXX-001” to view specifics on the course section, such as dates and times available, location, instructors, seats available, etc. Select “Add Section to Schedule”. Then a pop-up box shows a more detailed view of the course section, once you’ve reviewed everything select “Add Section”.
  7. To select more courses for your schedule, select the “Back to Course Catalog” link at the top-left corner of the page and repeat steps #1-7.
  8. Once you’ve added all of your course(s), select “Student Planning” from the top-left corner of the page and select “Plan & Schedule”.
  9. Using the < > buttons, find the term you’ve just selected course(s) for. All of those course(s) will be listed and displayed on the calendar provided.
  10. Select the Register Now button located at the right corner of the calendar to register for the course(s) you have selected.

Continuing Education & Personal Enrichment Students

Students who have previously signed up for a class at Rowan-Cabarrus using WebAdvisor have a login. If you do not remember your username or password, please follow these tutorials: Forgot your password? and WebAdvisor Login Instructions.

  1. Navigate to WebAdvisor.
  2. Select the “Continuing Education” button.
  3. Under the heading “Registration,” select “Search, Register and Pay for Continuing Education Classes.”
  4. Search for your desired class, for example, you can “key word” search for “Notary” to pull up Notary classes.
  5. If you have trouble finding a class, use broader search criteria (e.g. search by location or days of the week), or leave all fields blank for a list of all continuing education classes.
  6. Check the boxes to select the classes for which you wish to register and select “Submit.”
  7. Enter your information and follow instructions to register and pay.
