IR Photography for Processing Evidence and Crime Scenes – This course will provide practical insights into available tools that can help investigators, detectives and first responders identify more evidence by using infrared photography to discover and document evidence.  The course is a culmination of nearly two decades of research and direct applications to real life challenges on crime scenes.  Although our natural vision is limited, simple and affordable tools can be applied to crime scenes to readily help identify multiple forms of evidence otherwise hidden from human vision. This course will demonstrate easy but powerful methods to uncover evidence invisible to the naked eye by applying Infra-red photography.   Blood can blend into dark surfaces, counterfeit currency can be challenging to identify, trace evidence and gunshot residue may otherwise be missed.  Document alterations, fire investigation, body identification and tattoo applications are just a few of the areas the IR training will include.  Over 25 applications of IR light to help assist law enforcement and better detect and discover evidence will be included.  Infra-Red Cameras will be provided and used during the training to identify evidence with hands-on practical exercises.  The latest peer reviewed research and current information surrounding Infra-red photography will be included and Sub-dermal/Subclinical bruising will be scrutinized.
