Low Power Variable Optics and Magnifiers (LPVO)

During this course of instruction, students will learn to utilize low-powered variable optics (LPVO) mounted on the patrol rifle. At the conclusion of the block of instruction the student will be able to: (1) demonstrate loading, unloading, and immediate action clearing of the primary and secondary duty weapon; (2) Zero and/or confirm zero for patrol rifle mechanical sights as well as LPVO; (3) demonstrate the ability to rapidly select, deploy, and establish “hasty” firing positions; (4) Demonstrate the ability to engage targets while using barricades and elevated positions; (5) Demonstrate the ability to engage threat targets with extreme-precision up to 50 yards and extreme accuracy at 200 yards; (6) and successfully pass a qualification course of fire with 100%.
EQUIPMENT: Students will be required to have all duty gear, patrol rifle with optics, and 400 rounds of ammunition.
