There will be focus on the foot work, speed of movement, weapon retention, the use of senses, slicing across the threshold, communication among team members, and how to move stealthy throughout the structure. This course will require the operator to perform entries with the gas mask and without the gas mask. Operators will implement the shield into certain entries and conduct live fire shooting with the shield during flat range drills along with dry and live fire room entries. A great deal of emphasis will be placed on getting the operator to understand the importance of physical fitness and how it plays a vital role in how stress affects performance and decision-making during entries.
