Alan Thompson

Alan Thompson currently serves as the Emergency Medical Services Director and Program Chair of the Emergency Medical Science and Emergency Management Programs. He has been involved in the Emergency Services since 1985 in a variety of capacities to include paramedic, firefighter, emergency management, tactical medic, disaster responder, and educator. He also is a veteran of the NC Army National Guard. He retired as the Director of Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services in 2018. Upon his retirement he accepted a full time position at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College after working as a part time educator since 1990. Alan Thompson is a North Carolina and Nationally Registered Paramedic, Level II Instructor Coordinator, Tactical Emergency Medical Specialist and holds a number of other instructor credentials and professional certifications. He completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Emergency and Disaster Management at Western Carolina University and an Associate in Applied Science in Emergency Medical Science at Davidson Community College.

Erich Byrd currently serves as the full time Paramedic Lead Instructor and Program Director.

Tracy Love

Tracy Love currently serves as the lead part time clinical coordinator for advanced life support field and clinical experiences.
