Kayona Obregon, from Rowan Cabarrus Community College SGA Secretary/Treasurer, made a motion that stated, “To continue the relay for life fundraiser by selling a combination of Krispy Kreme Donuts and Krispy Kreme BOGO cards with a maximum goal of 1,000 dollars.” Motion Passed

Club Reports:

AHR Chiller – (1) Chillers Club Executive Committee met on Wednesday, 8, October for their monthly meeting which addressed lottery events, student meetings, fundraisers, charter paperwork, club constitution, and additional upcoming event to AHR Program and ASHRAE Student Chapter. (2) Chillers Club student meeting were held during the week of Saturday, 11 November through Wednesday, 15 November. Students voted on various items such as: (a) Voted and approved the use of student funds up to $140 ($35 max each) for the purchase of 4 Branches of Hope Doves for two males and two females. (b) Voted and approved the use of student funds up to $600 for Lowe’s for the purchase of items necessary to complete Campus Service Project at CBTC. Project is still being planned and designed. Student Lead is Tyler Nurse, Club Treasurer. Working with Scott Chandler form Facilities on details and needs. (3) Chillers Club members worked the Blood Drive at CBTC on Wednesday, 15 November form 9:00 am-1:30 pm. Chillers Club members also worked Festival of Trees at the Trolley barn in Salisbury on Thursday, 30 November. This event was originally scheduled for Thursday, December 7 but was changed by the City of Salisbury at the last minute. The Chiller Club worked with Barb Meidl on completion of this event. Chiller Club sponsored the 13th Annual AHR Thanksgiving Meals on Monday, 20 November 2017. Club President, Jonathan Turner also attended and presented a semi-annual club activity report at the Construction Trades Group Advisory Committee Meeting held during the evening meal on 20 November. (4) Three students for the Chillers Club, along with advisors and faculty attended the Southern Piedmont ASHRAE Chapter Training Luncheon on Thursday, November 2 at Byron’s South End in Charlotte. Students attended and participated in November ASHRAE Student Chapter training meeting on Wednesday, 15 November. Had a great turn out and all enjoyed the training given by Chris Adams, Owner of the Adams Companies. (5) Encouraged student participation and volunteering and making suggestions.

Art Club – The Art Club organized and brainstormed ideas for our student test stress relief painting. The Art club also gathered volunteers and talked about resources for their project. Last Thursday the Art Club had their stress relief painting session and had a major success getting student active with the piece.

CKEC (Cabarrus/Kannapolis Early College) – CKEC is planning for the second half of there Hunger Drive event and preparing their skit for the kick-off in February also their Victory Junction event that will be in February, for this event CKEC will visit the camp and help. CKEC have picked people who will be participating in the lottery event that they chosen for next semester.

Cosmetology – Absent- No report

L.I.F.T. – L.I.F.T has been working to organize upcoming meetings, reaching out to inactive members, and working with the Branches of Hope organization to provide gifts to eleven children in need for Christmas. L.I.F.T held a leadership meeting on November 27, where L.I.F.T discussed a new service project due to the shipping issues with the L.I.F.T books and replaced it with Branches of Hope. L.I.F.T also discussed a spring trip and other fundamental things. L.I.F.T next general meeting will be held on December 8, 2018 from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm.

M.I.S.T.E.R. – The M.I.S.T.E.R Club has started volunteering at Issenberg Elementary school and received training though community on schools. M.I.S.T.E.R has also registered to volunteer with Habitat for Humanities.

Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) – PBL is currently undertaking a campus project for those who are experiencing grief this holiday season. PBL has put up a poinsettia tree in the Navigation Station area and will be holding a session with a counselor on campus for all those who want to stop by. PBL are planning a holiday party for PBL members. Coming soon PBL will start planning for the Spring Semester and competitions coming up.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) – No report

Prism- Prism is working on their upcoming events, campus service, and community service project for next semester.

Radiography- The Radiography club finished their community project and worked on collecting items and organizing them. Radiography club also went to the Rowan County Child Abuse facility and handed out the donations. Radiography club will be having a meeting Thursday December 7, 2017 and voting on who will be participating in the lottery events for spring and any other mentioned topics.

RCEC – The RCEC club has begun preparation for their Neon dance on December 8, 2017, using raffles and contests to advertise for the dance we’re hoping for a great turn out. RCEC has also secured two scholarships for RCEC students with winners being announced in May. The RCEC has also voted on RCEC merchandises, which will be sold in spring.

Rotaract – Absent- No report

Skills USA – The SkillsUSA had a pizza for active members and some do the event on December 5 for skills.

Student Nursing Association (SNA) – Absent- No report

Veterans Club – The Veterans Club has only had one club meeting since the last SGA meeting and discussed their community project, BINGO night at the VA Hospital in Salisbury this will take place on Friday December 8, 2017. After their meeting, they went to Walmart and brought Christmas gifts for three children on the Branches of Hope. The Veterans club will have there next meeting, next semester.

Welding – Absent- No report

W.O.W – The W.O.W. club had their meeting on November 29, 2017. The President discussed on revoting for their community service project. The W.O.W. club voted on a new Senator and discussed about their new club event coming up in January 2018. The W.O.W. club discussed about how they should go on Navsync to check on they upcoming event. Post-pone talking about ideas for their end of year trip.
