New Business:

The motion was made on South Campus by Xavier Evans of SGA and seconded on North Campus by Larry White of SGA. The motion reads: I, Xavier Evans from SGA move that, Student Government Association conducts a fundraiser for Relay for Life by selling 140 Krispy Kreme doughnuts and 30 Krispy Kreme BOGO cards. A box of doughnuts would be $6.00 a box. The cost of a BOGO card would be $20.00. The fundraiser shall not exceed the amount of $500. This fundraiser shall be done by February 2019.

Academic Senator
Liberal Arts – During the month of November, I attended the W.O.W meeting as well as the Veteran’s Club meeting where they discussed their community service projects. I also had a meeting with Dr. Billings to discuss student involvement in the annual book drive held by the English department.

Club Reports:

AHR Chillers – Our club senator, Hunter Buckwell attended the November SGA meeting. The Executive Committee met on November 7th and held a student meeting the following week. We sponsored the 14th AHR Program Thanksgiving Meals at CBTC on November 19th. The Chillers Club Students voted to spend up to $210.00 of student funds to purchase up to 6 Doves for the annual Branches of Hope event. This will cover 3 boys and 3 girls’ sponsorship of gifts at a cost of between $25-35 per dove. Also, the club students have approved a change to the October approval of spending for the Thanksgiving Meals from a max of $600 to a reimbursement to Jon Crockett for $1,018.28 for food and supplies.

Art Club – We help our Open Critique on Friday November 9th. We also did our Art & Design club service project on November 30th in which we held a collage workshop at Trinity Oaks Retirement Center.

Cab Tech (Cab Tech Early College)- No Report

CKEC (Cabarrus/Kannapolis Early College) – We have raised over 1,000 items in this year’s Hunger Drive and Donated all items and over $200 to Cooperative Christian Ministry. We planned for spring events such as our sock-hop dance and Day of Caring. We bought matching council shirts and tie-dyed them as a group during the orientation meeting. Our potluck and white elephant holiday meeting will be held on December 5th.

Cosmetology – In our last meeting, we had five members in attendance.

M.I.S.T.E.R. – No Report

Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) – We attended our Fall Leadership Development Conference on November 9th and 10th. We have begun our Poinsettia Memorial Tree Project as of November 26th on both North and South campus. We are preparing for our monthly meetings this week and we are looking forward for a strong spring semester.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) –Our club was involved in the Tis the Season parade in Rowan County on November 26th, 2018. We put in an inventory for donations collect for our animal donation drive. We will buy more items for the animal donations on December 5th.

P.R.I.S.M. – During our last club meeting on November 14th, we had two motions pass. The first motion was to change our community from the Cabarrus County Humane society to Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary. Another motion was passed to contribute $250 to Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary from the P.R.I.S.M. budget. We also had two executive board meetings one on November 19th and on November 30th. On November 19th, we had two motions pass. The first motion was to increase P.R.I.S.M.’s campus project to $150. Art supplies will be purchased at Wal-Mart or from Amazon. The second motion was to provide snacks and drinks at the next P.R.I.S.M. on December 5th and was not to exceed $30. On November 30th, we had two motions pass. The first one was to amend the constitution for the impeachment of officers who miss 3 consecutive meetings without a reasonable excuse. The second motion was to impeach our Secretary/Treasurer and to vote on Demarcus Cousar for Secretary/Treasurer.

Radiography – On November 29th, we voted on our travel grant money to be used for the NCSRT event in Asheville, NC. We also voted on bringing canned goods for the Second Harvest food bank to complete our community service hours. Previously on November 28th, we had a very successful Veteran’s dinner for the other half of our community service project.

RCEC – No Report

Skills USA – Our meeting was called at 12:14 pm and adjourned at 12:49 pm. Our last meeting was meeting was on November 6th where we discussed voting for the Hurricane Florence donations and new and unfinished business.

Student Nursing Association (SNA) – No Report

Tri Beta (Biology Club) – The constitution passed, and we received the $270. We signed up for the STEM open house and are currently contacting Chipotle for a fundraiser. We also attended the club lottery and have figured out our representative for future events. Our next meeting is on December 7th.

Veterans Club – On December 7th, we will be having our community service project at the VA Medical Center that will begin at 7 pm. Also, on December 7th, we will be having our meeting where we will discuss Branches of Hope sponsorship, buying supplies for Bingo, and who will be working the lottery event in January. At the November 16th meeting, we voted on the purchase of supplies for Bingo night, and we also voted on pizza for the event.

W.O.W. – At our last meeting, we discussed our campus service project and our community service project. We also discussed the dates of these events, changes in our executive board and the upcoming meeting on November 5th.
