Thank you for joining the Department of Art & Design in collaboration with Vibes, The Creative Arts Incubator, to celebrate the artist reception for “A Fighting Chance.” This exhibition welcomed local artists who identify as Black, Indigenous or Person(s) of Color to submit their artwork to be exhibited in The Bridge Gallery in recognition of Black History Month. BIPOC+ artists have traditionally been underrepresented in United States galleries and museums and the intention of this exhibition is to recognize this while sharing The Bridge Gallery space and elevating underrepresented voices and experiences in the community.

The artist reception took place February 24, 2023 from 5:00 – 6:30 PM at The Bridge Gallery at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s North Campus in building N107 located at 1333 Jake Alexander Blvd. South in Salisbury, North Carolina. This event was free and open to the public.

We want to thank all of the artists who participated in this show. A special thank you to Hannah Surace (Visual Arts Faculty and The Bridge Gallery Coordinator), Sabrina Harris (Founder and Owner of Vibes) and Bailey Wingler (Graphic Design Faculty) for all their hard work in helping bring the community and show together!
