Course Description: Introduces the theory of Ethical Leadership and discusses the principles associated with ethical leadership as well as various characteristics that an ethical leader demonstrates. Explains the steps involved in developing ethical leaders and why an ethical, character-driven approach to leadership is needed in law enforcement organizations. Reviews the impact of vision, mission, and guiding principles on an agency’s ability to create lasting relationships with the community it serves. Addresses the issue of organizational culture and its influence on the development of leaders. Enumerates the benefits of ethical leadership on the individual, the agency and the community.
