Club Reports

AHR Chillers – No report

Art Club – Art Club is preparing for the student art show by trying to help members with presenting, framing and critiquing work.

CKEC (Cabarrus/Kannapolis Early College) – CKEC club just finished our Carolina Student Hunger Drive, where we won first place. We collected the most pounds per student in our area. Now our council if focusing on getting feedback about previous events that we have done and using that to improve them for next year. We are also focusing on finishing the planning of our Luau, that we do each year to induct our incoming freshmen.

Cosmetology – Cosmetology Club has two PR Officers, Fawcett Propst and Ashley Hill. Cosmetology club also has a new Secretary, Amanda Forte. Cosmetology is currently looking into options for a trip as a club, as well as opti9ons for community service projects.

L.I.F.T. – L.I.F.T. club has one general meeting where we discussed our campus service project, made the decision to purchase L.I.F.T. club t-shirts (and came up with a design), and then discussed more about the changes that will be made to L.I.F.T. clubs leadership team next year. Currently, we have planned a service project that will be held tomorrow April 4, 2018 where we will provide information about the club to Inco miry students, as well as pass out shacks, water, and allow for students to summit prayer requests into a box. Our next meeting will be held April 13, 2018.

M.I.S.T.E.R. – M.I.S.T.E.R club is participated in the Minority male success initiative State conference on March 25th through 27th. The M.I.S.T.E.R club completed volunteering at Isenberg Elementary school. The M.I.S.T.E.R and W.O.W. club will partner career advising to host professional development hip hop and rap for April 10th, 2018 on south campus from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) – PBL club is going to their Sate Leadership Conference Aril 5th through 7th, 2018 in Charlotte, NC.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) – PTK club will be holding our spring induction today and we had the opportunity to read Dr. Suess books to children at North East medical center. We are planning other activities in the future.

P.R.I.S.M. – Absent – No report

Radiography- Radiography club is preparing to go to Asheville next week. We also are preparing for ketlenng seminar in three weeks

RCEC – The RCEC club is currently in the process of creating next year senior t-shirts and RCEC’s ten-year anniversary t-shirts. We are also finishing our planning for our annual ice cream social and Field day. RCEC’s student scholarship is also appearing its deadline on May 1st, 2018.

Skills USA – Skills USA has nothing to report at this time.

Student Nursing Association (SNA) – No club report

Veterans Club – The Veterans club had their last meeting on March 23, 2018. We discussed our next two lottery events, blood drive and stress Relief, and who will volunteer for those events. We continued to discuss ways to promote and market the club such as merchandising, a banner, and what to do at the fall welcome back event at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. We set a date for the VET’S dinner that is be next September. A spokesperson from Boston Scientific came and spoke about quest speakers for the dinner and how the company will promote/support the event. The next VET’S meeting will be April 6 at South Campus.

Welding – Absent – No report

W.O.W. – W.O.W. club discussed our campus service project and rescheduling for the wellness center. We discussed about going to Carowinds and spring fling on south campus. We also discussed about having a Culture Confidence Program and attending the job fair at First Baptist Church in May. The W.O.W. club discussed about our women’s empowered event and were exited of the outcome.
