South Campus Updates
S201 & S203 Elevator Improvements
Work is underway on the S201 and S203 elevator improvement project. Current activity includes exterior excavation and preparation for electrical, refrigeration, and control-system connections.
Major elevator modernization remains planned to begin on December 4. Additional advance notice will be provided before elevator shutdowns or significant impacts on building access occur.
South Campus HVAC Upgrades
The South Campus HVAC Upgrades project is moving toward construction. There are no immediate campus impacts to announce this week. Advance notice will be provided before work begins affecting building operations, access, or occupied spaces.
North Campus Updates
Parking Lots A and B
Phase II construction continues. Parking Lot B remains closed, while Parking Lot A remains available. The old Navigation Way in front of N101 and N102 remains open for access to both the north and south entrances to Parking Lot A.
Service Access Road Temporarily Closed (Buildings N102 & N105)
The service access road serving N102 and N105 remains temporarily closed through potentially November. All service and delivery traffic for N102 and N105 should continue to enter via Rowan Tech Road and use the designated delivery area in the N103 parking lot. Navigation Way in front of N107 also remains closed, and vehicles cannot pass between N107 and N110. Please continue to follow posted detours and allow additional travel time.
- All service and delivery traffic for N102 and N105 is redirected to the N103 parking lot, with designated delivery spaces provided.
- Traffic patterns across campus will remain directional due to active work zones.
- Vehicles cannot pass between Buildings N107 and N110. Please plan alternate routes.
- Navigation Way in front of N107 will remain closed through potentially November.
North Campus Water Service – Tuesday, Oct. 27
The new waterline connection is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27, beginning at 9 a.m. Salisbury-Rowan Utilities estimates the work will take approximately four hours, with completion anticipated by about 1 p.m.
Before the connection begins, the contractor will verify the valve and trace the waterline again. Based on the latest review, an interruption to water service in campus buildings is not currently expected. N107 remains the building being monitored while the valve and line configuration are confirmed. If the expected impact changes, additional information will be communicated.
North Campus Infrastructure Extensions
Work on the new underground sewer connection continues near N110. Tree clearing along the utility route is nearing completion, with additional site preparation and sewer-line construction following. Please avoid active work areas and follow posted pedestrian and traffic signage.
All campus users are encouraged to follow posted signage, use caution when navigating construction areas, and allow additional travel time.
Campus Access and Open Areas During Closure
Access from Jake Alexander Boulevard (North Entrance)
Entering campus from Jake Alexander Boulevard, the following areas remain accessible:
- Buildings N101, N102, N103, N105, N106 and the Amphitheatre
- Parking Lot A
- Parking Lot B (upper areas)
- Service Area
- Building N107
Access from Old Concord Road (East Side Entrance)
Entering campus from Old Concord Road, the following areas remain accessible:
- Building N110
- Early College
- Fire Training Center facilities
- Southern and eastern campus areas, including facilities near Buildings N114, N115 and N130
Delivery Access for N102 and N105 (via Rowan Tech Road)
During the service road closure, all deliveries intended for Buildings N102 and N105 must enter campus via Rowan Tech Road (North Entrance) and utilize the N103 parking lot.
Designated delivery spaces will be clearly marked within this area to accommodate service vehicles and maintain operations during construction.
