South Campus Sidewalk
Beginning Monday, May 25, several sections of concrete sidewalk at South Campus will be replaced. Most of the work will take place in front of S201 and extend to the corners of S202 and S203. The project is expected to take approximately one week to complete.
North Campus Tree Removal
Also beginning Monday, May 25, Rowan-Cabarrus will coordinate with Duke Energy on the removal of holly trees along the edge of Parking Lot A at North Campus. This work is expected to take approximately four days.
North Campus Crane Work
On Tuesday, May 26, a crane will be positioned in front of N102 along the drive from 8 to 10 a.m. Facilities staff will assist with traffic flow in the area during this time.
Parking Lots A and B Construction
Construction is ongoing (began April 27).
Construction activities remain active and continue to impact traffic flow on North Campus. Campus is still accessible from both Jake Alexander Boulevard (north) and Old Concord Road (east). However, traffic remains directional. Vehicles cannot pass between Buildings N107 and N110 during this phase.
Please continue to follow posted signage and allow additional travel time when navigating campus.
Campus Access and Open Areas During Closure
Access from Jake Alexander Boulevard (North Entrance):
Entering campus from Jake Alexander Boulevard, the following areas remain accessible:
- Buildings N101, N102, N103, N105, N106 and the Amphitheatre
- Parking Lot A
- Parking Lot B (upper areas)
- Service Area
- Building N107
Access from Old Concord Road (East Side Entrance):
Entering campus from Old Concord Road, the following areas remain accessible:
- Building N110
- Early College
- Fire Training Center facilities
- Southern and eastern campus areas, including facilities near Buildings N114, N115 and N130
