Course Description: To provide the skills necessary to conduct enforcement activities associated with search warrants, warrantless searches, interviews, eyewitness identifications and nontestimonial identification orders. Investigators and law enforcement officers involved with enforcement activities associated with search warrants, warrantless searches, interviews, eyewitness identifications and nontestimonial identification orders.

Note: NO STUDENT WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR PARTIAL ENROLLMENT. The text for this course is Arrest, Search, and Investigation 5th or 6th Edition, by Robert L. Farb (Institute of Government: 2016). This text is referred to extensively throughout the course. It is highly recommended that students have the Sixth Edition. IT IS A REQUIREMENT THAT EACH STUDENT HAVE A COPY OF THIS TEXT AVAILABLE TO THEM FOR THE CLASS DURATION. Students must also have the current versions of the “Red” and “Green PLI books. Those books are available through the NCJA Bookstore. The Academy Bookstore may be reached at (910) 926-6099. Students will be required to have a laptop with ACADIS accessibility.
