Course Description: The US Supreme Court has clearly stated what most prosecutors do not understand. This 8-hour course prepares the supervisor/administrator in the response to an officer involved shooting. Topics discussed include:, Supreme Court case law, The body’s response, The psychological changes response to the during, and the aftermath, The investigation (internal and external), Practices to ensure accurate interviews, Body cameras (weaknesses and when to review), Media releases, Best practices to combat prosecutors who are, seeking political gain in shootings rather than, seeking the truth, Best practices for the internal investigation and, when to conduct these interviews.
