Social Media for Drug Enforcement

July 21

Course Description: Description: This course is instructed by a narcotic officer with over 32 years of advanced narcotic investigations. This course is a 16 hour course that was developed for drug enforcement officers and for general law enforcement officers who perform investigative duties. It was developed to identify information that is vital to investigators conducting narcotic investigations, as well as other pertinent cases. The information is now being posted and spread throughout the internet by open source media outlets, such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, among many others. For law enforcement, Facebook and many other social media sites are revealing threats to communities, selling illegal drugs, posting crimes that are being committed in those communities. More and more police departments, in their commitment to protect and serve, are finding that social media can be an invaluable tool in their investigation.
