Tactical Training Building

The renovations of the former Angelo’s Restaurant are nearing completion in preparation for use as a training prop for Law Enforcement classes. While most of the repairs are not noticeable – roof repairs, parking lot clearing, interior cleanout – a coat of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College blue on the metal facade clearly notes we’re making changes!

The exterior of the Tactical Training Center

Installation of the movable wall system has started inside one of the former dining areas. The wall system allows Law Enforcement to provide different floor plan configurations to ensure the training prop is a dynamic, non-static environment.

The Interior of the Tactical Training Center has movable walls.

I-85 Sign

Installation of the support columns (pylons) for the new I-85 campus sign has started in front of Building 600. The finished sign will have our logo, electronic message boards on both sides and be clad in metal and stone to match the finishes of Building 600. For an indication of the size our new sign will be, compare the pylons to the project member standing at the base of one!

The I-85 Sign Pylons are being installed.

The support pylons – app. 12” in diameter and 3 stories tall above ground – require a crane  to lower them into their footing holes and hold them in preparation of pouring the concrete base around them.

The pylons are aproximately 12 inches in diameter and 3 stories tall.

Building 300 Waterproofing

The exterior waterproofing around Building 300 is complete. The handrails on the new southeast stairs are installed so the stairs and building entrance are now open. We are updating the landscaping around the building with new plantings.
