Deputy Police Chief – Concord Police Department
Concord Police Deputy Chief Jimmy Hughes, a 1998 graduate of the Rowan-Cabarrus Basic Law Enforcement Training program, was recently honored with the Robert Jackson Eury Memorial Award as the highlight of an annual ceremony honoring local fallen officers.
Hughes joined the Concord Police Department in 1998 as a patrol officer and now oversees the department’s daily operations. He also has served as an instructor in the Rowan-Cabarrus BLET program.
In law enforcement and in life, Hughes gives of his time to help those in need, saying he attributes his success to forming strong relationships with the community and other criminal justice professionals and following the Golden Rule: “Treat people the way you want to be treated.”
