Building Search Tactics for Patrol

Course Description: This course is designed for officers who search buildings and residential structures, as part of their daily patrol or special unit duties. From burglar alarms to searching homes for wanted subjects, searching structures can become routine and can create bad habits that carry over into other areas of police work. This course will place emphasis on Close Quarter Tactics. And deliberate search principles designed for small team operations. We will discuss philosophies and techniques that can be used in any structure, at any time of day, focusing on search tactics and deliberate room entries for two and three-officer search teams.
