The Behavioral Interview is a proven and widely used method of exploring a candidate’s suitability for the position and how this person may/may not fit in the organization’s work culture. It goes beyond just looking at the candidate’s educational and work history to determine the right fit; this interview probes the candidate for specific examples of past behavior as they relate to the job requirements. This approach to interviewing makes it difficult for a candidate to simply “make something up”.
- Behavior based interviewing is designed to uncover how the interviewee acts/behaves in specific employment-related situations.
- The logic is that how you behaved in the past will predict how you will behave in the future i.e. past performance predicts future performance.
- Behavioral interview questions are more pointed, more probing and more specific than traditional interview questions.
- In a behavioral interview, there are no hypothetical questions.
- The interviewer wants to know a job candidate handled a situation, instead of what they might do in the future.
- This is a 2-Day program. Participants are asked to bring information about current vacancies in their companies to DEVELOP behavior-based questions and PRACTICE using these questions in a mock interview.
