Crime Analysis: Hot Spot Mapping

Course Description: The concepts of crime analysis with emphasis on mapping will be the centerpiece of this course. The data collection process from planning what to collect and how to collect it, as well as the various processes and sources of data analysis, production, and final dissemination will be discussed. The trends, patterns, and series will be fully explored. Students will compare and contrast the many different types of crime analysis, such as tactical, strategic and administrative.
