Ethics for Leaders
October 21
Course Description: The core of what it means to be a law enforcement professional is grounded in a solid ethical foundation, both personally and professionally. The class will focus on the importance of integrity and character in the law enforcement profession. Students will discuss the negative consequences of unprofessional conduct; the cost of compromise; and why some officers believe they are “above the law.” At the end of this block of instruction, students will understand how to address suspected misconduct and how to promote positive ethical behavior within the organization. Although not a prerequisite for the Internal Affairs class, they are intended as companion courses.
