Supervisor Responsibilities for Death/Homicide Cases – This class will discuss supervisor responsibilities for responding to death and homicide scenes and follow-up investigative requirements. Areas of discussion will include: who is initially notified, who decides the response, how are resources requested/deployed, internal resources, external local LEO resources, external state specialized resources, external federal specialized resources, assistance from non-law enforcement agencies, initial response to the scene, 1st unit meeting, 2nd unit meeting, requirements for case continuation, and after the arrest requirements. Actual case studies will be utilized to reinforce all training objectives and highlight supervisor responsibilities.
