Tutor Training Program
Tutoring Frequently Asked Questions
Is tutoring free?
Yes! Tutoring is free of charge to students currently enrolled in classes at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
Where is the tutoring center located?
The centers are located in the libraries on both North and South Campus. At South Campus, go inside the library and make a left. The center will be straight ahead at the end of the floor. At North Campus, go inside the library and take an immediate left. The center will be in the first suite of glass rooms on your left.
Do I need to bring anything with me to my session?
Yes, please make sure you come prepared with your class notes, text book, and assignment guidelines. For writing, bring a printed copy of your paper. For math, bring a calculator if necessary.
How do I sign in and out?
There are two ways to sign in and out of the tutoring center. You may use your student id card and swipe in and out at the front desk, or you may type in your student id number if you do not have your card with you.
Are there any rules about when I can attend the center and for how long?
The only rule you must follow when utilizing the center is that you cannot be in the center when you are scheduled to be in class. If your class is canceled, please let the front desk associates know, and they will contact your instructor to verify. You may stay in the center outside of class time for as long as you need, and you can utilize the center for an unlimited amount of hours each semester.
Do you offer tutoring online?
Yes! We have partnered with Tutor.com to provide all RCCC students with the option of receiving tutoring in all subjects from off-campus 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. You can access Tutor.com through the link in your Blackboard account. Like all tutoring at Rowan-Cabarrus, Tutor.com is free of charge, but students are limited to 5 hours of tutoring per semester. If you need to request additional hours, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
