Mission

The Library at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College supports the mission of the college by being an active and vibrant partner in the learning experience; preparing information-literate citizens to compete and succeed in a 21st century workplace.

 

Goals & Objectives

  1. Global Knowledge Sharing – To preserve and provide global access to knowledge created in and by the college.
    1. The Library will preserve the College history by organizing, maintaining, and increasing access to a College archive.
    2. The Library will establish an in-house publishing unit to highlight artistic and academic contributions from students, faculty, alumni, local residents, and staff.
  2. User-friendly Learning Spaces – To provide flexible and responsive physical and virtual spaces.
    1. The Library will provide flexible and inviting physical spaces that are responsive and adaptive to the learner’s evolving needs.

  3. Academic Support – To support learning by providing appropriate resources and services.
    1. The Library will provide learning opportunities for on-campus and online students.

    3. The Library will collaborate with faculty and other partners to help reduce textbook costs.
  4. Awareness and Advocacy – To create opportunities to share information with stakeholders on the Library’s role in the educational process.
